Premiere of Rome.

The highly varied programme started on Friday with international guest speakers such as Jessica Scorpio and Benoit Jacob and their visionary key notes. Lively discussions on the Urban Future “Mobility & Innovations” such as sustainability and tangibility of what followed at the round table. The second Urban Future theme block was held with “Architecture & Design”. In his key note, architect Carlo Ratti declared that “Augmented architecture is for Augmented Men (today’s homme nouveau) and his mobility, flexibility and freedom.” Likewise, Francesco Lipari found that the opportunities for the future can also lie in the past. The creative minds of Ratti, Lipari, Joseph Grima (Domus), Federico Ferrazza (Wired) and Novembre discussed the possibility of mega cities at the subsequent round table.

CreativeAct Rome: Fabio Novembre.

BMW i is about far more than mobility. It represents a whole new way of urban living and thinking. We are therefore proud to be sharing our venue in Rome with one of Italy's most respected architects and designers: Fabio Novembre (*1966). Besides several concepts for well known fashion brands, he curated various exhibits. For BMW i Novembre created an exhibit that examines changes in Rome's urban life.

Speakers & Roundtable Discussions Rome.

"Urban Future: Mobility & Innovation." (English)

On the morning of June 21st you'll have the unique opportunity to listen to and discuss the future with two leading edge thinkers: Jessica Scorpio who co-founded Getaround, a Silicon Valley Start-up that is pioneering the concept of peer-to-peer car sharing using mobile technology. Prior to launching Getaround, she completed the Graduate Studies Program at Singularity University, a new graduate program launched by Ray Kurzweil, Peter Diamandis, NASA and Google. Then, from BMW i's Head of Design, Benoit Jacob will describe the creative thinking behind our new electric revolution. His approach to design has been a resolute pursuit of sustainability, which goes far beyond customary automotive design work. This is a challenge the unconventional Frenchman embraces, since he sees himself as a kind of "special design unit".

"Urban Future: Architecture & Design." (Italian)

In the afternoon session on June 21st you'll be able to listen to and discuss the future of design and architecture with Carlo Ratti, the internationally renowned architect, Francesco Lipari the founder of OFL architecture and Fabio Novembre who is our lead CreativeAct in Rome.
